Gargano Vegan specialities
The Mediterranean cuisine of Puglia is very famous, there are many specialities of the land and the sea that gift travellers real moments of culinary pleasure.
We have already spoken of the specialities of Gargano and Vieste in our previous articles, but now we will talk about typical local dishes that fully fall into a healthy vegan diet.
N.W. Donna Maria Restaurant of the Tenuta Padre Pio chooses only genuine products at Zero Kilometer directly cultivated from our vegetable garden.
Let’s start immediately our “virtual” lunch to discover the flavors of Gargano for Vegans.
Our Menu
Try to imagine to be seated in our restaurant surrounded by windows and olive trees with a good bottle of Gargano wine.
We recommends bruschetta stuffed with fresh seasonal tomatoes, salt, wild oregano (typical of the Mediterranean plants) and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil of our production, it is very green that pinches the throat and gives to each dish a unique touch; to accompany bruschetta we serve black olives in salt and driet tomatoes left to dry, as tradition dictates , under the scorching sun of August.
But, this is just the appetizer!
The first course of today is a choice between orecchiette with turnip tops the famous “cime di rapa” and Troccoli with fresh tomatoes and basil. You choose!
A tasty lentil burger surrounded by fresh salad, tomatoes and cucumbers is our second course proposal, but the choose is extended to a pumpkin and potato crust in bread crust, followed bi grilled vegetables and an unmissable soup of chicory and beans, served with spicy and a drizzle of oil.
And finally, you can not miss our homemade lemon sorbet or red mulberry.
For now, our vegan culinary tasting has come to the end. Follow us on our blog and we will surprise you with many new ideas.
